ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE SPECIALIST
ENVIRONMENTAL COMPLIANCE SPECIALISTCITY OF IRVING, TEXASPAY RANGE OF $20.63 - $29.11 PER HOUR
Duties include conducting inspections and preparing related technical reports to meet federal and state requirements; responding to hazardous materials incidents and supervising incident cleanup; and investigating customer complaints. Duties also include performing sampling, monitoring and inspections for the drinking water, storm water and industrial wastewater pretreatment programs. A Bachelor’s degree, or equivalent, in environmental science, biology, microbiology, chemistry or a related science field and two years of relevant experience are required. Must have TCEQ Class C Water and Class II Wastewater licenses. If not presently licensed at this level, must have Class D Water and Collection I Wastewater licenses and, as a condition of continued employment, must obtain Class C and Collection II within a specified timeframe. Schedule includes participation in 24-hour on-call rotation. Night and weekend hours are sometimes required. PRE-TREATMENT INSPECTOR DEPARTMENT OF OPERATIONAL SERVICES / ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS. $2819.72/MO
DUTIES: Contacts officials of commercial industries concerning waste discharge, federal and state pollution laws; inspects and monitors industries and municipal waste treatment system for waste disposal, government violations, and permit requirements. Reviews plans proposed waste treatment facilities and inspects construction to insure compliance. Issues citations to violators of sanitation code or water-quality regulations. May collect industrial samples for laboratory analysis to determine pollutants and non-compliance. Operates basic laboratory equipment. Compiles written reports of investigations, findings, corrective actions and recommendations. Informs industries of current pre-treatment regulations and assists industries in establishing and maintaining pre-treatment programs and reporting procedures.
